Tricks

Stances and the Like

Regular: Grinding with your right foot as your back foot, and your left foot as your front.

Goofy: Grinding with your left foot as your back foot, and your right foot as your front.

Switch: Any stance that is the opposite of what you are used to.

Fakie: Walking backwards up to your grind. (much harder than it sounds).

Alley-Oop: Any grind in which you execute the trick backwards. (Can only be applied to a few tricks).

Disaster: On vert handrails, instead of jumping up and landing at the top of the rail, you jump outwards, over the first few steps, and grind the end/ middle of the rail.

Cess Slide: You remember back in the day, when the ground was wet and you could run and slide on the ground with your shoes? This resembles a cess slide. Usually a lot of torque is needed.

Standard Plate Grinds

Frontside: Jump onto the grinding surface and slide forward. Feet should be about shoulder width apart. Can be added to any trick (i.e. Frontside Royale, a royale executed from the frontside stance/ position). Applies with one footed grinds also.

Backside: Jump onto the grinding surface but land backwards, as opposed to forwards like a frontside. Feet should be about shoulder width apart. Can be added to any trick (i.e. Backside Farfegnugen, a farfegnugen executed from the backside stance/ position). Applies with one footed grinds also.

Royale: Jump onto the grinding surface and turn your ankles away from the direction you are going. Someone watching from in front of you should be able to see the soles of your feet.

Farfegnugen: Jump onto the grinding surface and turn your ankles towards the direction you are going. Someone watching from behind you should be able to see the soles of your feet.

UFO: Jump onto the grinding surface and turn your front foot's ankle away from the direction you are going, and your back foot's ankle towards the direction you are going (turn your feet away from each other). Someone watching from either side of you should be able to see one of the soles of your shoe.

Cab Driver: Jump onto the grinding surface and turn your front foot's ankle towards the direction you are going, and your back foot's ankle away from the direction you are going.

Unity: Jump onto the grinding surface and cross your feet. Your back foot should be behind your front foot.

Savanah: Jump onto the grinding surface and cross your feet. Only difference from a unity is your back foot should be over your front foot.

Cheese Grater: Jump onto the grinding surface and turn your front foot so the toes on that foot are facing the opposite direction as the toes on your back foot. The toes on both feet should be facing outward.

Byn Soul: Jump onto the grinding surface and turn your back foot so the toes on that foot are facing the opposite direction as the toes on your front foot. The toes on both feet should be facing inward.

Acid UFO: A variation of the Cheese Grater in which you turn your ankles like you were doing a UFO.

Drag Queen: Jump onto the grinding surface but only grind with your front foot. Drag your other foot on the toes of your shoe behind you. Mostly done on ledges/ benches (not recommended on rails, due to smaller area to place your drag foot).

Inverse Drag Queen: A variation of the Drag Queen in which you drag your back foot on the heels, as opposed to the toes, of your shoe.

Sidewalk: Jump onto the grinding surface and only land with your front foot. Hook your back leg over the rail and grind on the laces of that shoe. Mostly done on rails.

Acid Sidewalk: A variation of the Sidewalk in which you turn your front foot so it is in a farfegnugen position.

Sidewalk Mod: A trick thought up by Alexei Tajzler. Instead of hooking your back foot over the rail, tuck it under you like you were doing a sit-down royale.

Alley-Oop Sidewalk: Jump onto the grinding surface and only land with your back foot. Hook your front foot over the rail and grind on the laces of that shoe. Mostly done on rails.

Alley-Oop Acid Sidewalk: A variation of the Inverse Sidewalk in which you turn your back foot so it is in a royale position.

Two Step: Any grind in which you grind on two different surfaces at once. (i.e. the seat and table of a picnic table).

Tight Rope: Walk on only the soles of your shoe across the grinding surface. Mostly done on rails due to how retarded you would look walking along the edge of a bench. Not that you don't look stupid walking along a hand rail either...

Sole Walk: A trick thought up by Kyle Lefler. In the middle of any grind, turn your feet and walk on the soles of your shoes across the grinding surface. Mostly done on rails (for the same reason as Tight Rope).

One Footed Grinds

Backslide: Jump onto the grinding surface and land with only your back foot. Torque that foot like you were doing a Royale. Can be applied to any of the one footed grabs (i.e. freestyle backslide, backslide christ grind)

Fastslide: Jump onto the grinding surface and land with only your front foot. Can be applied to any of the one footed grabs (i.e. freestyle fastslide, fastslide christ grind)

Pudslide: Jump onto the grinding surface and land with only one foot. That foot must be torqued like you were doing a UFO. (a fastslide pudslide would be with only your front foot, a backslide pudslide would be with only your back foot.) Can be added to any of the one footed grabs (i.e. freestyle backslide pudslide, fastslide pudslide christ grind).

Grabs for one footed Grinds

Safety: The most common grab for one footers. Lift up your non grinding leg and grab the plate on that shoe.

Budget: Tuck your non grinding leg behind you, and grab that foot by the top of the shoe (on the laces).

Rocket: Crouch into your grind really low, and extend your non grinding leg out in front of you. Grab the plate on that shoe.

Freestyle: Lift your non grinding leg above the rail. Do not grab it, rather let it hang there.

Christ Grind: Place your non grinding foot on top of your grinding foot
